Blendec/ Vitamix*: What’s the diff?

I know, I’ve tested them both in my own kitchen and in a commercial environment. Listen, hands down in my opinion the Blendtec surpasses the Vitamix. Here's why:

All my friends and customer who have Vitamix’s wish they would have invested in a Blendtec instead.
Vitamix’s motor is a 2 Hp, needs a tamper/plunger to get the food through the small blade. Whereas Blendtec’s motor is a whopping 3 HP, it does not need a tamper and the blade is wide, almost the whole depth the jar base. The design of the square jar and the blade running at 29.000 rpm self propels your food into the blade thus causing a vortex effect. You will be amazed at what you can do in 30 seconds or less.
Blendtec’s 64 oz jar fits nicely under the counter, bonus! Vitamix jar is too tall to accommodate the cupboard.
You will need to buy a separate “dry ingredient” jar to grind grain with rather inferior results. Jar is also harder to clean. With Blendtec, the jar that comes in the box with the blender is all you need for wet and “dry” ingredients and it does a superior job in grinding nuts, seeds and grains to a fine powder. Jar is a breeze to clean.
I personally like the sleek modern look of the Blendtec. There are no knobs to clean. The base is simple to clean. LCD screen lights up, has pre-programmed cycles and with the special Hp3A you can customize your variable cycles to boot and then walk away from the unit. It will shut off automatically. The Vitamix is a little clunkier, heavier and has knobs for controlling the speed.
The vitamix will overheat and shut down faster then the Blendtec. These are built in safety mechanisms in both units. With a Vitamix you might as well go for a mile run before you can start it up again.
Nut butters, cheeses? You guessed it … there is nothing like those 3 hard working horses in the Blendtec.
